Anita Claridge-Lawrence and Clare Liddamore have been facilitating regular drop in sessions for adults with learning disabilities.  They have adapted these to virtual drop-ins during the pandemic by using phone and video calling.  They have also collated and sent out some resource packs that include health information, word searches and colouring pictures.  Trial sessions were offered to help those using new technology. These were accompanied by Easy read sheets to assist with gaining access to Microsoft teams and allowing them to have a practice.

Throughout the summer these sessions became more popular as everyone got used to using the technology.  Anita and Clare, supported by staff from Speech and language, HPFT, Summit house and ACE volunteers, hope to restart face to face drop-ins soon but will continue to utilise the new skills learnt to give access to all who require support from the drop in sessions.
