Welcome to Cardiology Clinic
We are a clinical service, led by GPs with a special interest in cardiology (GPwSI), providing clinical assessment, treatment and self-management advice and for people referred with the following conditions:
- Heart failure
- Palpitations of unknown cause, excluding temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure (syncope)
- Assessment (if required) following 24hr/7 day ECG monitor
- Atrial Fibrillation
- Hypertension – especially younger people (under 40 years) suffering from raised blood pressure and those whose blood pressure is difficult to manage
- Stable Angina – where interventional treatments are not planned or are not appropriate (excluding new episodes of chest pain)
- Hyperlipidaemias, especially possible family links with high cholesterol
- Advice for GP’s on ECG interpretation
Where is the Service provided?
Clinics are available Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 09:00 – 17:00 from a variety of venues including:

The service runs Monday to Friday (excluding Bank holidays) 9am - 5pm.
How to access the Service
Referrals are accepted from consultants; GPs; practice nurses and other cardiology clinicians.
Hospital consultants may also triage referrals to the cardiology clinic.
Self-referrals are not accepted.
