More about Holter monitor referral
We provide an ECG service using Holter monitors to investigate people who are suffering from Palpitations which are not present all the time.
- Usually, the monitor will be in place for 24hrs or 7 days depending on the frequency of the symptoms
- The device will be fitted in a clinic and taken off 24hrs or 7 days later depending on the referral. You will be expected to remove the tape and drop off at the authorised clinic area. You will be told where during your fitting appointment.
- You will be asked to complete a diary of symptoms for the duration of the test which will help with analysing the results.
- If further investigations are required, this can be arranged within the community cardiology Service, or you may be referred directly to the cardiology consultants at the hospital.
