Welcome to the Community Ophthalmology Service

This is a community-based ophthalmology service for minor eye conditions. Patients who have a concern should contact their local minor eye condition service based at a number of local opticians.

If they are unable to treat your condition they will onward refer to the triage provider, Evolutio, or, if it is an emergency, direct to the Hospital Ophthalmology Department.

How to access the service

Your GP or regular optician will refer you to the person best able to treat your condition. You can self-refer to the local Enhanced Service Optometrist who will either treat your condition or onward refer you when necessary.
